Sometimes I get headaches or even migraines due to hormonal fluctuations or barometric pressure. I’m so sick of taking over the counter pills and I don’t really want to take prescription pills either b/c of all the side effects. I would like to find some things that are natural, like foods, exercises etc. that would bring it under control enough that it may go away on it’s own, or with help from just one or two ibuprofen (I currently take 3-4 200mg when I get one).
I have taken so much otc medicine for headaches/migraines in my life, and a lot of prescription stuff too. I just don’t want to do that to my body any more.
I have already and will continue to report spammers. Advertise for your crappy website somewhere else this is not the place for it. And your advice is terrible.
For any other people hoping to get some natural suggestions for managing their headaches I would caution you that “Butalbital is a physically and psychologically addictive barbiturate.” (from wikipedia)

I often get headaches, but only migraine medicines usually help them go away. At night, I can’t take them because they have caffeine in them and they’ll keep me up.
I have some ibuprofen but those don’t work very well, so I was wondering if anyone knew some things around the house (food, whatever) that might help with the headaches either by itself or with the ibuprofen?

Headache treatment
Most headaches are caused by muscle spasms in the back of the head and neck. The spasm can be sparked by emotional stress or by holding the head in a fixed position for long hours. At times the pain can be extremely severe and feels as if the head is in a vise-like band.
Relaxing tight muscles through massage, hot showers and heating pads or cold packs, including biofeedback and muscle-relaxation training may prove to be helpful.

When I got my wisdom teeth pulled, I got a prescription of vicodin. Soon after, I didn’t need it anymore, and still had some left over. Lately, I’ve been getting MAJOR migraine-type headaches and the only thing that seems to work is the vicodin. I’ve tried tylonol, advil, excedrin, anything! Only vicodin seems to work. I’m not addicted, but still…..I’m afraid that when I go to the doctor he’ll only give me some other placebo or “painkiller”, and I can’t just ASK for vicodin, it’ll make me sound like a drug seeker! What should I do? Thanks

The doctors at Monahan Chiropractic know that migraine headaches can be torture. The pain interferes with daily life. However, thousands of people live with migraine headaches, thinking that the only help available is expensive drugs. In this brief article, Dr. Clark V. Monahan of Monahan Chiropractic discusses a range of migraine headache treatments.
Dr. Monahan reports that a large body of natural treatment knowledge is at work in today’s health field. He states that Monahan Chiropractic employs natural treatments which are less expensive and non invasive. These natural treatments provide long-term, lasting relief, in contrast to the partial, temporary relief of pain medications. Additionally, Monahan Chiropractic doctors know that the chance of side affects or negative reactions are much lower with natural treatments than they are with pharmaceutical medicines.
