Question by *Sawyer’s Mommy*: Getting rid of headaches and migraines during pregnancy?
I’m 20 weeks and my migraines just started happening. Most of them are due to my back and neck hurting but sometimes they hurt so bad that they make me sick.

I’m allowed tylenol but it’s honestly not strong enough for me.

Question by Adriana, Chase and Jayden’s Mom: Migraines or Sinus headache in pregnancy, which one?
I’m currently 38w3d’s pregnant and having terrible headaches for past couple of days. Mainly it’s on the right side of my head that hurts. It feels like someone is poking my brain, like it will burst at any time. To try to ease the pain, I’ll rub my temples but that doesn’t help that much. Does this sound like a migraine or a sinus headache? What are the best remedies for it to go away? Thanks in advance!
My blood pressure has been checked and it’s not high at all. Also I’m not seeing bright spots or black outs. Just to add if I inhale (like take a deep breath), I can feel it start to throb a bit. Also I have doctor’s appt tomorrow, so well see but just wanted some advice beforehand.

Question by Pregnant with a baby girl!: Could a sinus infection or migraine headache be one of the first signs of pregnancy?

Answer by R.E.
No

Why on earth would it be? The first signs are breast tenderness, mild fatigue, and maybe slight nausea. Headaches don’t come until later, as in usually months, if at all. And your immune system isn’t really affected until around 16 weeks plus, according to my OBGYN.

How to Avoid Pregnancy Migraines

Pregnancy migraines are very common, especially during the first three months. This may be attributed to changes in hormone levels such as estrogen. These hormonal changes may worsen or reduce the severity of migraine. Despite the gravity of symptoms, migraines do not pose threat to the fetus’ safety.

Pregnancy migraine is found to diminish after the trimester period. During migraine events, the woman may experience some dizziness and light sensitivity. Other symptoms such as visual disturbances may occur at the onset of migraine but is usually short in interval. Migraine events however, can last to anywhere from 30 minutes to 72 hours.

sex before period, pregnancy?? advice needed!!!!?

If I had unprotected sex a few days before my period, and my period lasted about five days, is it possible I could still be pregnant? I’ve heard sperm can still live inside you for up to seven days. The only reason I ask is that lately I have been feeling oddly tired and have had migraine type headaches, which I almost never get. I know that this could be alot of different things, but I just wanted to know if pregnancy would be possibility at all????

Headache During Pregnancy

Natural remedies you can try include the application of a warm compress over the eyes, forehead, and nose (for sinus headaches), or a cold compress to back of the neck (to help with tension headaches). You may want to take a warm shower or bath, or get a neck and shoulder massage. Meditation and/or relaxing in a darkened room may also provide some relief. Coconut water is also excellent for re-hydration.It is important to contact your doctor if you do not achieve any relief from the methods described above. Furthermore, do not take any OTC pain relievers unless you have been given the go-ahead.

A migraine headache during pregnancy can mean any number of things. Your body is going through some major changes and hormones are flooding your body at unpredictable times and causing all sorts of physiological changes. That being said, a migraine headache can result from this but you might also get a migraine from external factors.

I am 21 weeks pregnant and am prescribed Tylenol 3 (with codeine) for migraine headaches. I only take a half a pill when needed but I have been taking them everyday! Has anyone else taken this much during pregnancy, what happened, was it okay? I am prescribed 1 to 2 pills every 4-6 hours as needed and the doctor says it’s fine while pregnant. I know doctors don’t know everything and was wondering others opinions. Maybe people who have been here done that or know a lot about this!! Thanks all!!!

my period is due next week. Tonight I had the WORST migraine headache ever! it is just not subsiding. Keep in mind that I NEVER get headaches and definetly not one sided migraines. It was intense! Only on the left side of my head. It was making me so nausea and I couldn’t even lift my head off the pillow without it throbbing.

Also, I am tired.. and these past 2-3 days I have been VERY moody/emotional. I feel so bad for my boyfreind becasue it seems like i am always biting his head off and i don’t even know why! Like an emotinal roller coaster is the best way to describe it. One minute I am happy and laughing and wanting to be close to him, then the next i am a raging psycho ***** and also crying/whining/complaning/etc.
