Does anyone know what I can possibly have?

I am a twenty year old female and about a couple of months ago I started feeling a pain near my right arm, but I couldn’t determine specifically where the pain was coming from. I thought it could possibly be a lymph node so I went to my GYN for a check up. She reasurred me that my lymph nodes were fine and that the pain was probably related to my joint/muscle and suggested that I probably “slept wrong” or did some kind of activity that aggravated the area. I had been asymptomatic for about 2 months following that and the pain practically disappeared. Recently, however, I have been suffering from terrible headaches, pain in my joints and they crack all the time (especially the shoulder, elbow, hands, knees and ankles), I’ve had low grade fevers, back pain, malaise, loss of appetite and I lost about 6 lbs in 2 weeks. I went to the ER because my pain only got worse and I was on the verge of tears and they did a CT for my brain, blood pathology, and urinalysis. They said the CT came back negative, the blood tests came back within normal ranges and the urine was negative for UTI and my kidneys were functioning well, I just had mild dehydration. My doctor said that my headaches were migraines/tension headaches that were stress related and that all the other symptoms were indicative of a virus.

If I had a virus wouldn’t by WBC count be elevated? And why would I have other symptoms such as joint pain, etc?

Do you know how to get help with prescriptions?

My sister got help this way for her migraine headache medicine. She said to contact the manufacturer of your medicine. Most companies offer free or low-cost prescription drugs to low-income people who meet their eligibility guidelines. Also, many states provide help. Call your state health department. Other sources: Needymeds.com (click on Patient Assistance Programs) and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.

Has anyone tried doing this?

I am 24 years old. I have been experiencing headaches since the 7th grade. My headaches usually involve migraine pain in the right back side of my head, facial pain, jaw pain, and neck pain. I have been on more medications than I can even remember for prevention and treatment of the headaches. I have sen all sorts of doctors, a physical therapist, pain specialist, orthopedist, neurologist, and probably more. I am at my witts end! I just had sinus surgery 2 weeks ago in hopes it would help, I don’t think it has. There has to be someone out there who has a similar problem that could possibly help?? Thank you everyone!

Everything You Need to Know About Migraines and Other Headaches

Almost everyone might have experienced a headache once or many times in life. Do you know exactly what triggers headaches? If it is experienced now and then, it may be due to genetic factor, or the metabolism of your body. Also, stress is another significant factor which triggers hormonal headaches. Although there are several factors that are almost universal in triggering headaches, the situation varies with different persons. The most cited impetuous factors are anxiety, glare, noise, stress and anger. There are some other common factors like sneezing, relaxation, pollen and sexual activity.

The associated symptoms are visual disturbance like flashes of lights and blind spots. There is an experience of intensified sensitivity to light or noise, and it can be nausea with some persons. Some people suffer from cluster headaches, which are even more painful. They are not the same as typical migraine, but they are even debilitating. A better solution is to learn what triggers your headache and then avoid it in future. You can also learn to anticipate the onset of the problem and take steps to stop them.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me. It seems as though I get (what I call) a headache at least once a week. It’s usually dull yet quite fierce and persistent. I’d say it lasts a few days and then goes away. I try to take over the counter medication but it doesn’t do anything. Unfortunately, I lose sleep because of the pain. Any suggestions? Or should I just grin, bear it and head to the doctor? *sigh*
