Question by *Sawyer’s Mommy*: Getting rid of headaches and migraines during pregnancy?
I’m 20 weeks and my migraines just started happening. Most of them are due to my back and neck hurting but sometimes they hurt so bad that they make me sick.

I’m allowed tylenol but it’s honestly not strong enough for me.

In addition to a bunch of weird medical issues, I was told that I had low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (but possibly high, just definitely low… maybe considered “medium” but obviously that’s not a classification) so I went to the doctors for a colopscopy and most likely a biopsy. The colopscopy results came back as totally normal. Even the OBGYN thought this was odd (he said so), but then he told me that I just need a follow up in a year. Wait, so you told me first that it was definitely low but possibly high (again, forgot actual wording) but now you’re saying that it’s looking like it was never there and to come back in a year? What!?!
My other symptoms are: lactation (normal progesterone levels and not nursing), weight gain (about 10 lbs in a month and I’m “dieting”), headaches/migraines- about 3-6 times a week, etc. I was checked for cushings because my PCP thought that’s what it is but my cortisol levels came back fine. I should also mention that my HCG levels came in at a 5. I was 2 wks late for my last period. UGH my body is frustrating!!

Any ideas???? Should I get a second opinion??

Headache During Pregnancy

Natural remedies you can try include the application of a warm compress over the eyes, forehead, and nose (for sinus headaches), or a cold compress to back of the neck (to help with tension headaches). You may want to take a warm shower or bath, or get a neck and shoulder massage. Meditation and/or relaxing in a darkened room may also provide some relief. Coconut water is also excellent for re-hydration.It is important to contact your doctor if you do not achieve any relief from the methods described above. Furthermore, do not take any OTC pain relievers unless you have been given the go-ahead.

A migraine headache during pregnancy can mean any number of things. Your body is going through some major changes and hormones are flooding your body at unpredictable times and causing all sorts of physiological changes. That being said, a migraine headache can result from this but you might also get a migraine from external factors.

I am 21 weeks pregnant and am prescribed Tylenol 3 (with codeine) for migraine headaches. I only take a half a pill when needed but I have been taking them everyday! Has anyone else taken this much during pregnancy, what happened, was it okay? I am prescribed 1 to 2 pills every 4-6 hours as needed and the doctor says it’s fine while pregnant. I know doctors don’t know everything and was wondering others opinions. Maybe people who have been here done that or know a lot about this!! Thanks all!!!

My wife is pregnant and suffers from migraines what medication is recommended that she can take that will be safe to use for her and the baby during her pregnancy but also effective to stop the headache.

I am 37 years old, 2 big kids (pregnancies were both in my 20′s) and I have migraines during my period. I haven’t always had these. This started about 3 years ago when I first turned 35. (guess my hormones changed) I have tried everything! Tylenol & ibuprofen are a joke and only caused me to have acid reflux instead of helping my headache. I got off birth control pills and my hubby had a vasectomy to try to help…still no good.I cannot take any of the migraine prescription medicines as I have mitral valve prolapse and a heart arrythmia. I take long hot baths & use ice on my head which helps temporarily. These headaches are taking over my life. They are debilitating and I cannot work or drive when I have them. If anyone has any suggestions or something that has worked for them please let me know!!
I have already been to the doctor and it has definitely been determined to be only related with my periods. And yes, I do have the aura symptoms..usually a week before my headache starts.

My Ob/Gyn told me its safe to take and prescribes it to me for daily headaches and migraines…im freaking out because i read so many bad things about taking meds during pregnancy. My doctor is telling me its completely safe and its safer than taking advil or such…i tried tylenol it just doesnt work for me and im allregic to aspirin.
My question is did your baby turn out fine?

Im 25 weeks.
She prescribed it to me when I was I think in my 10th week… and kept prescribing it … she still says its ok to take it but im just afraid .

Took two excedrin during pregnancy?

I took two excedrin earlier, and haven’t taken them at all in my pregnancy, haven’t touched them. I’m pretty sure it won’t be a problem, because I just didn’t have any sinus medicine (headache) medicine with me. I don’t plan on taking them anymore. Do you think this is ok? Just one time during pregnancy? I’m 27 weeks. I only took them because I had a horrible migraine.
Actually,my 3D ultrasound was done at my doctor’s office. The ultrasound tech (She’s done all mine) could get a great view of him,so she just took a 3D pic to give me! I loved it!
