Some background, I have had headaches or migraines since I was a kid (I’m 32 now) over time they started getting worse in intensety and more frequent. I have had several MRI’s but they come back fine. I have tried about 20 different preventative meds. I am on Topamax and Depakote daily right now. For pain I take toradol shots for the less severe and for the more severe headaches I take Fioricet w/ codeine. I don’t take the pain medication to much during the week because I don’t want to get rebound headaches or have my body get used to the medication. I have tried the headache diets, got extra sleep, less sleep, excercised more, then less, lost weight, had blood work done. I am making sure to give everything a chance to work but they don’t. Please anyone out there help me with any ideas you may have!!!!!
I’ve had headache problems my whole life but for the past 3 weeks I have had a headache/migraine every waking moment. Today was the only day I had no trace of one. Thinking back…the only thing I did differently today was eat some chocolate…which I never do.
Could it just be the caffeine(which I never use but I know sometimes it can help) or are there other medicinal properties of chocolate that effect headaches?
I have been having chronic headaches for the past 2 weeks. They start in the base of my neck and become migraines. They are so bad that not even Excedrin Migraine will help. They intensify when I lay on my stomach, blood rushes and they throb. Sometimes I can give myself relief by pressing firmly on my head or keeping my neck in a certain position. Just wondering if anyone knows what might be causing them?
Chronic headache, or chronic daily headache (CDH) are defined as headaches that occur more than 15 days per month for longer than 3 months. Chronic daily headache is not a diagnosis but a category that contains many disorders representing primary and secondary headaches. The primary headaches include migraine, tension-type, and cluster headaches. The prolonged or very frequent headaches are usually known as the chronic headaches. Secondary headaches are caused by medical conditions, such as infection or increased pressure in the skull due to a growing tumor. These account for a very small percentage of all headaches.
Many treatments and technique are available, both to relieve and prevent these headaches pain. All these treatments depending on which type of headache you have. The medications known to play a role in treatment headches such as analgesics, Beta blockers, antidepressant and Injections of anesthetics. These medications do not cure headaches completely and just give the timely relief. There are numerous side effects with these medications and if you use these medications in a frequent manner and for a longer period of time, they will lose their necessary effect. To be on the safe side, there are many natural alternatives for pain relief which are quite effective:
I am 24 years old. I have been experiencing headaches since the 7th grade. My headaches usually involve migraine pain in the right back side of my head, facial pain, jaw pain, and neck pain. I have been on more medications than I can even remember for prevention and treatment of the headaches. I have sen all sorts of doctors, a physical therapist, pain specialist, orthopedist, neurologist, and probably more. I am at my witts end! I just had sinus surgery 2 weeks ago in hopes it would help, I don’t think it has. There has to be someone out there who has a similar problem that could possibly help?? Thank you everyone!
I have constant headaches. Took tests. all came back normal
Is this enough to cure a painful headache or migraine?
Also, is it a Anti Depressant ?
