Migraine symptoms can be debilitating and the headache pain and discomfort typically begins on one side of the head though it may spread to both. The pain and discomfort will usually start as a dull ache and then move into a constant, throbbing sensation which is moderate to severe in intensity. Men and women with a migraine headache will prefer to lay down in a peaceful, darkened room because light and noise generally worsen the pain and discomfort. Migraines are frequently accompanied by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, sweating or chills.
Migraines are categorized according to the signs or symptoms they produce. The two more common types are migraine with an aura (Classic Migraine) and migraine with out an aura (Common Migraine).

Question by Adriana, Chase and Jayden’s Mom: Migraines or Sinus headache in pregnancy, which one?
I’m currently 38w3d’s pregnant and having terrible headaches for past couple of days. Mainly it’s on the right side of my head that hurts. It feels like someone is poking my brain, like it will burst at any time. To try to ease the pain, I’ll rub my temples but that doesn’t help that much. Does this sound like a migraine or a sinus headache? What are the best remedies for it to go away? Thanks in advance!
My blood pressure has been checked and it’s not high at all. Also I’m not seeing bright spots or black outs. Just to add if I inhale (like take a deep breath), I can feel it start to throb a bit. Also I have doctor’s appt tomorrow, so well see but just wanted some advice beforehand.

However, migraine headaches can happen at nearly any age of life from young childhood to the twilight years of someone’s life. If it happens in kids it is normally experienced in girls and boys in identical percentages. After the age of puberty it is seen in women three times more frequently than men. It also tends to happen in the same family. A young child is much more apt to be subjected to migraine headaches when a parent, sibling, or aunt or uncle suffers with migraines.

Migraine headaches can be an extremely painful experience – and each person experiences it differently. The exact causes aren’t known, but they’re related to blood vessel contractions and changes in the brain, as well as abnormalities in certain areas of the brain. The level of pain varies from person to person, as well as the length – that can range from four to 72 hours.
There are five different stages of a migraine headache, and most people will experience at least two of these. Here’s a look at the different stages and what to expect during each:
